Snow White, Mickey and all their pals in ice spectacular

La Laguna has been chosen as the only Canarian venue for Disney on Ice, said to be the biggest ice spectacular in the world.
The show is comes to the Pabellón Santiago Martin arena from March 14 to 17 when the all-American cast and crew of 90 will recreate classic Disney favourites, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and Baloo the Bear.
There will be two shows, at 4pm and 7.30pm each of the four days, with an extra one on both the 15th and 16th at 12.30pm. Organisers anticipate the shows will attract an audience of 40,000 over the four days.
Tickets are on sale now from the usual outlets, including El Corte Ingles and Caja Canarias.

That’s a bit of Irish for you

Only in Tenerife could you find an Irish pub called the Devon Arms, which sells Cornish pasties. But that is the unlikely combination you’ll find at the pub in the centre of Los Cristianos run by Irish couple Annette and Brendan Findlay, above.
One of the few traditional pubs in Tenerife, the Devon Arms is celebrating its sixth year with Annette and Brendan as mine hosts. And to mark the occasion, they are throwing a party tonight, Thursday, February 21 from 8pm onwards.
Not that the regulars at the Devon need an excuse for a party. With Annette and Brendan serving up good food, good beer and good company, every night is party night at the Devon Arms.
But tonight is a bit special as the Findlays celebrate and reflect on the six years of hard work they have put in to transform the Devon Arms into the popular watering hole it is today. Friends old and new are invited to share in the fun and the free buffet.Only in Tenerife could you find an Irish pub called the Devon Arms, which sells Cornish pasties. Fundraisers aim for top of the class

News of a fundraiser with a difference, as pupils from Britannia School set out to raise money for animal charity, K9 with a dinner and entertainment at Palm Mar.
Nothing unusual about that you may think but organisers, Laura Hodgkiss, Gema Carmona and Luke Stephenson do have a hidden agenda.
While desperately keen to help K9 with their fundraising efforts, organising the event will also earn them brownie points towards their Travel and Tourism A-level coursework.
Killing two birds with one stone, the trio have organised the event at the Rancho Restaurant, Palm Mar, on Sunday, March 2, starting at 4pm.
Tickets cost €20 for adults and €15 for children under 10 and includes a three-course meal with drinks, as well as entertainment, stalls and a bouncy castle for the little ones.
There is also a raffle with a fabulous star prize of a trip for two to any European city, flights included, provided by Alvita Holidays, as well as other prizes including Tenerife excursion tickets provided by Thomas Cook.
Sounds like a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon, so get along to the Rancho restaurant, Palm Mar and help raise some money for a good cause, as well as helping Laura and her friends with their homework.
